Here’s a look at the heart-shaped private island Angelina Jolie has reportedly bought for partner, Brad Pitt for his 50th birthday.
The actress is said to have paid $12 million USD for 11-acre Petra Island, which is on a lake about 50 miles north of New York City.
It boasts two houses designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, one of Pitt’s favorite architects and has its own helicopter landing pad.
One of the houses is a 1,200-square-foot cottage, while the other is a 5,000-square-foot main residence said to be «nothing short of an architectural masterpiece».
«Petra Island truly must be seen to be believed,» the sellers said in a listing.
The cottage was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and built in 1950 and the main residence was built in 2008 from one of Wright’s final plans.
It features 1,500 square feet of skylights and uses stone, cement, and mahogany in its design.
Brad turns 50 on December 18, 2013.
